Hello friends, today I am writing about a different topic which may be viewed as a completely out of syllabus in this consumerism-ridden society. This piece of writing is completely related to my spiritual domain. It is the result of my 10 years of thought and deep consideration. During this time span I was grossly misunderstood by the people. Sometimes people called me an atheist and accused me off blasphemy, and I had no time to counter this false allegation. Sometimes due the lack proper environment or due to my unwilling for argument I could not prove my point. Because the more arguments you win the more friends you lose. I did not want to lose my friends, so I was seeing a triumphant victory in my defeat. But as the time passed my silence was viewed as weakness, and this poison of allegation had been trying to cripple me gradually. Finally I have decided to choose the platform of soft discussion rather than the verbal battle field of argument. This blog is instrumental to provide me this platform. With all humility it is my sincere request to all the readers that read this blog with an unprejudiced mind. Because the prejudiced mind is just like a closed parachute, it won’t serve the purpose unless you open it. Whatever I am going to write, the statements are mine but the true philosophies are directly derived from the Vedas. I am just a writer nothing else.
Why do people call me an atheist? Whenever I ask this question to anybody else especially my friends, they say that I never go to the temple, never bow down before the idol inside that, only because of this reason people call me an atheist. I am not here to say how much truth their statement bears, Instead my question is “is the IDOL inside the temple is the GOD”. My intention is not to hurt anybody’s spiritual sentiment. I am just giving a written format to my psychological agitation which has been hurting me since 2000. I can prove my point by citing the verse of our holy books, that the idolatry is nothing but a farce It’s neither my ego nor any monopolized conclusion; it is a mere statement according to the VEDAS.I am describing the characteristics of GOD one by one what it has been written in our Vedic literatures.
OMNIPRESENT :
the God is present everywhere. So how one can confine the GOD with in a small geographical area. It is very absurd to put a limit on the omnipresent. No doubt the God present inside the temple and the idol also, but neither the idol is God nor the temple is God’s house, it is only due to the omnipresent nature of the God one can say that the God is also present inside the temple, because he is present everywhere.
ISHAVASYAMIDAM SARBAM (YAJU).
It indicates the god presents everywhere.
SAHA PARYAGAT (YAJU).
It means SARBABYAPAK.
OMNISCIENT:
It means god knows everything. Knowing anything is the attributes of the active entity (CHETAN), not the passive element. So how does the passive idol can be the god?????
OMNIPOTENT:
It means the god is almighty (sarvasaktiman). One can easily understand how omnipotent the idol is from watching the z-type security provided to puri srimandir, tirupati temple, and aksharadham temple. It sounds ridiculous that an almighty needs the security covers of humans. History says that so many idols and temples had been broken, but not a single response came out from the idol. Is it the attribute of the almighty????
No, never, it shows the idol cannot be the god.
FORMLESS:
The word from Vedas ‘AKAYAM’, ‘ARUPAM’ indicates that the god is formless. It means it is not a subject of eye. Because the eye can watch the shape of the object, so the idol does not have the property of the god. If He possesses a form He could never be Omnipresent, or, therefore Omniscient; since a finite substance can possess only finite attributes, actions and nature.
IMPERISHABLE :
It means which last forever (NITYA). The idol does not suit for the attribute. It is destined to be destroyed. Because it is a combination of material elements and in some point of time in future it will be certainly disintegrated.
NIRBIKAR :
It means free from any material process. These are born, growth, change, degrade, finish. But the statue is bound to go through this process according the law of the god. But the god is free from it.
THE HUMAN INCARNATION OF GOD
Again a false theory, selling like a hot cake in the market. There is no mention of theory of incarnation of God in any true Vedic scriptures. It has already been described that the God is omnipresent, just like the space. If one says that space entered into a womb or closed in a hand, it will be a fantastic lullaby which cannot be true. For space being infinite and omnipresent it neither goes in nor come out. Similarly, God being infinite and omnipresent, it cannot be justified that he can go in and come out. Coming and going can be possible only if it be believed that there are places where he is not present. But in this infinite universe no place is void of God. I don’t want to waste my precious life by worshipping historical persons as almighty god. It is impossible to identify any historical figure as supreme God. Because, for God neither the birth nor the death is possible. I have had great reverence for all the great personalities of the world such as SRIRAM, SRI KRISHNA etc. but as far as worship and devotion is concerned the true god must be our objective. Sri Ram and Sri Krishna etc. followed the Vedic ideals and always obeyed the God's instructions which are enshrined in Vedas. They had followed the Divine Vedic truths and applied the Vedic philosophy immaculately into their life and practice. It was their real greatness.
Because in Vedas there are two words describing the nature of the God as
ABRANAM , ASNABEERAM : God is free from all material change and biological impact. It means he is free from hunger and thirst, heat and cold, disease, imperfections, and injuries. And the human bodies are subjected to this.
In my point of view any theory which creates a wrong impression of God in devotee’s mind is certainly a naked reflection of mockery of theism. So the sooner we come out of this illusion the better it is. The truth is not what we believe but it is what we know by the dint of knowledge.
Please don’t misconstrue the word belief. There are two kind of belief. One which is based upon knowledge and scientific justification and another one is comes into play due to the lack of deep consideration. Out of the two I have decided to adhere to the first one.
By this blog if I hurt anybody’s sentiment, I apologize for this ………………………..
jitu u are true.. Ur all logics are valid and satisfactory.. But there is a point associated. What i feel is that may be God is sarvabyapi but we tend to feel him at a particular place, it could be anything like temple.. We have become obsessed like that...
ReplyDeleteSmtimes i feel we all are hypocrites, make use of the very feeling God...
Before going to discuss the matter of idolatry, we should know the answer of some of very crucial questions. What is the ultimate GOAL of life?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the function of human Mind?
The goal of human life is to be freed from all material bondage, which is called the salvation (MOKSHA).
All our sensory organs are continuously drive us towards the material world, because it is their basic nature. And these are the biggest hurdles in our pursuit of salvation. But god has empowered us by a controlling force, which is known as mind. But the mind is able to do this job only when it is well-sharpened by true knowledge and must be in stable condition. To gain the true knowledge we must read the Vedas.
But your doubt revolving around the second phrase “the stability of mind”, that is the concentration of mind. It is a misconception in your part that the human mind can concentrate on particular point (limited space).because all that we are watching in the world are having form, shape, size and occupy a limited space and limited attributes, but our mind does not seem to be concentrated. The human mind cannot be stable in a particular object which is having finite attribute, because it grasps the characteristics of that one and try to depart from it quickly. today one is obsessed for a bike tomorrow it may be a small car and after that it may be a Benz and so on…………
There are no limitations for the human mind’s desire. That’s why it will not be stable. That is the basic theory of mind. Whenever we sleep in deep slumber (not in dream), our mind is concentrated. Because all the outward motion of our sensory organs are ceased. By looking this natural process, the scholars and knowledgeable persons are trying to drive their mind inwards in order to concentrate it. And by constant and sincere practice (NIRANTAR ABHYAAS) they become success to concentrate their mind on GOD. They channelize all their activities inwards form soul to supreme soul, where they can get the eternal bliss. They never search the god at external site (it doesn’t mean that GOD is not present outside). This is the final stage of YOGA. And people call it SAMADHI, and this is the only path towards the divine GOAL of human life.
SAMADHI SUSUPTI MOKSHESU BRHMARUPITAM
It means there are only three stages where the soul can be connected to the supreme soul (GOD). And in all the three stage the soul able to get the eternal bliss of GOD which is not possible if we are connected with the external world. And through the idolatry we are worshipping the nature. And the attribute of nature is to BIND. So how one can justify the idolatry in order to achieve the spectacular feat of getting eternal bliss (free from bondage), when the idol worship is going to bind us?
