Kolkata was an awesome trip... i had never expected i would enjoy a lot this time.. last time the temperature was huge, so could not move hither and thither, but this time i had time and a beautiful climate..
It was one of the most unexpected trip either..my whole journey was on the waiting list..Puspak express from Bhopal to Kanpur-- w/L-28 and Kalika mail from Kanpur to Howrah--w/L-3..... but God protected me both times.. both were confirmed on the last minute only. i was so terrified if they don't...the journey was the best one as ever..also I enjoy journeys a lot..
After reaching Howrah, i moved to Sealdah because i was familiar with one of the hotels there..the place was nearby railway station.. it was a great experience living there.. a huge influx of people everywhere..food materials scattered everywhere.. no care of human values...i can trully claim Kolkata is a city where a lower middle class family can live happily unlike delhi, mumbai... i was surprised even a 25 paise coin had an importance there... even now i have some of them though useless...
Next day i.e on 24th my interview was at 9.30 am.. i thought to take taxi but met a guy named ashish, a cool guy... he too was going for the same.. he was working with DMRC as station controller and was dissatisfied with the job...he told me take a bus as nothing happens on time in government proceedings.. but owing to huge traffic and dilapidated roads we somehow reached at 10 am... there we got confused as there were two airports- domestic and international.. now again confused which way to go.. also time was running out.. somehow by 10.30 am we reached the exact venue.. thank god nothing had started.... ultimately interview was over by 1.30pm.. one of my friends was undergoing training for ATC over there.. i met him and had lunch at the canteen... then he took me to all the centers of operation at airport... radar, pilot communication dept.... i enjoyed a lot learning all that...
I came back at my hotel room at 3 pm..and had a nice sleep.. in the evening i roamed around the station and found one big bazar... i was happy and made a full scan of all garments...but alas couldnt buy anything... unfortunately i was not having my ATM with me. he he..
Next day i.e on 25th my train was at 5.45pm.. that means whole day left... i thought to visit a few places like Balur Math ( was founded by Vivekanand as an Asram of education in the memory of his teacher Ramkrishna Paramhansh now run under a trust named Swami Vivekanad trust..) and Victoria Memorial without knowing the time they will take... i took one ferry from Howrah.. the water level in Hoogli river was beyond imagination ( hoogli is a tributory of ganga.. so people over there treat it as ganga).... but unfortunately after moving for 2 hours in the ferry, i got to know that it wouldnt go directly to Balur Math...so i need to take another ferry from a bag bazar station...after thinking a lot i cancelled the plans for Balur Math and thought to visit Victoria Memorial.... i reached Victoria Memorial killing a lot of time at 1.00 pm...i liked the place very much... huge monument built by the British in the memory of queen Victoria...nice gardening there... i took some snaps in and around... the garden was full of couples as it was a huge one....they were doing all the mad things with the public and labourers staring... i felt like western civilization was at its paramount there...
i left the place at 4 pm for Howrah station.. i reached somehow at 5.30pm and safely got my train.... a day later reached Bhopal at 9 pm.. i was so relived to be at Bhopal again..i dont know Bhopal has generated a kind of affinity in my mind...Jai Bhopal..
This is the whole journey and enjoyments...i loved the trip and the place...the results would come in November... hoping for the best....
