CAG as we know stands for comptroller and auditory general of India. Present CAG of India is Vinod Rai. CAG is responsible for audits and accounts of various organisations within the govt and outside depending upon recommendations. It also heads the department of Audit and Accounts.
CAG is appointed by the president of India under the recommendations of PM. Present CAG Vinod Rai was appointed in 2008. Ever since he has taken charge, CAG has submitted one or the other report and has created huge uproar in the country. Everybody is aware about the 2G spectrum scam. It was the CAG only which made Indian and the world think that such a large scale scam can also happen. Though the UPA govt survived in 2G spectrum case by scapegoating A Raja, but the recent reports by CAG regarding COAL scam can destabilize the top brass. According to the report the govt has faced a huge loss in exchequer of the order of 1.86 lakh crore. It is because of not auctioning the coal bearing areas but rather directly allocating to the private and PSU firms. And the scenario further aggravates as the coal ministry at that time was under PM Manmohan Singh. Thus the immaculate face of Mr Manmohan could face huge danger from the opposition.
Lets see whatz gonna happen in the parliament from Tuesday onwards. The opposition has already declared to strangle the govt. Its a high time for Manmohan and his party to show miracle so as to ascertain that some of their remains is saved.
